Catnap
Catnap is a short, currently available free for Kindle users.
Here is the Amazon UK address ... Catnap by Jim Bond
It's a nice little read, utterly unlike his usual books, and nothing at all to do with HNF. Not something I would normally go for, but I enjoyed it.

Re: Catnap
I'm fascinated........'a bit of Bond' in an entirely different genre. Let's see if I recognize the author 'by style'.
I trust this will not impede our 'travels out of home waters' as the follow-on to Patriot's Fate emerges. But then, 'shifting pens' is, I'm told, a useful technique to 'refreshing the mind' while developing a series.
Thanks, Joolz.

Re: Catnap
Yes, Catnap is probably about as far from HNF as it is possible to get, although not such a major departure for me as it appears. In the past I have written in many genres, and always maintain that each improves the whole - if you see what I mean...
It was a strange sensation, writing without a pile of reference books or Post It notes covering every available space, but I am glad to say that I am back on track and the next HNF is well on the way.

Re: Catnap
I agree with Joolz...........and Alaric as well.
I've not read anything quite like this before, but I did find it 'entertaining' and it kept my attention.
You have 'quite an imagination' my friend.

Re: Catnap
I am in a lot of trouble over Catnap; never again will I portray an absolute bounder in the first person.
People are looking at me strangely; my wife has been subjected to conversations that begin with "Well I never knew..." and all seem to have entirely missed the point.
My fault, I'm sure, but in my next deviation from HNF I will write about an elderly nun, and see if they find the "real me" then...
Hey ho!

Re: Catnap
Hey ho.....exactly
Make sure that you 'charge them' to read about that 'elderly nun'.
You don't happen to drive a Merc'....do you?
Again, I found Catnap 'entertaining'.
