Sealed Orders
"Naval action at sea is still 'the duff' that brings expectation to the meal that we enjoy as HNF".
Sealed Orders contains the best example of extended naval action at sea that I've read in many years.
While some authors seem to cast about in the 'post Nelson-Trafalgar' era for a fruitful thread on which to build their HNF yarn, author Alaric Bond has based this eleventh book in his Fighting Sails series on a timeline that is both 'historically accurate' and populated with interesting characters both real and fictional and he has done a commendable job of it.
This is 'new classic HNF' and from a series that didn't acquire its name (Fighting Sail }because the author couldn't think of anything else to call it.

Re: Sealed Orders
I completely agree with the esteemed rear-admiral. This was a page-turner.

Re: Sealed Orders
Great cliff hangers, superior writing, exciting action, plus humor:"...I thought you said 'admirals'..."
Nicely done!
