Best Richard Woodman series?
Greetings,
I have just finished 'Britannia's Realm : In Support of the State 1763-1815 ' Volume 2 of Richard Woodman's 'History of the Merchant Navy' series, which enjoyed a great deal.
I attempted a review of the first book in said series 'Neptune's Trident: Spices and Slaves 1500-1807' for Amazon UK .
Which naval fiction series is worth starting with if want to check out his fiction ?
Regards

Re: Best Richard Woodman series?
Thank you for the replies. I've just ordered the first Drinkwater omnibus. I don't know why but the idea of a ship called 'HMS Cyclops' makes me smile.
I have just reviewed Britannia's Realm: In Support of the State: 1763-1815 (A History of the British Merchant Navy Book 2) on 'Amazon Uk '& G'ood Reads'. Very impressed.

If you read a bit about the 'life experiences' of both Vanner and Woodman, I think you'll find both "walked the walk and talked the talk".
Experience does tend to 'sharpen the pen'.

A true but confusing comment. I think 'Britannia' in the title may have thrown you of course? Britannia's Realm is by Woodman80 Winters wrote:If you read a bit about the 'life experiences' of both Vanner .........
Re: Best Richard Woodman series?
Caught 'luffing' again......... Thanks for the correction Admiral.
That being said, MichaelBully, I'm still going to give you that 'steer' to Antoine Vanner's Britannia series after you've finished Woodman's Drinkwater series.
